Fish for Life, touching over 90 communities including 7 capital cities across Oz to fight the battle of Cancer. A love of fishing, giving back to the community and pushing themselves to the next level has seen a team come together to create an event challenge of a lifetime.

Headed up by Skipper Mark Ratchford, a passionate man from Melbounre is on a mission to make a difference, encouraging families, recreational boaties and clubs to ‘Get their Lines out for Cancer’ by leading a national Cancer Council fundraising initiative.

The Fish for Life journey will be over a 6 month period, officially launching from the Melbourne Boat Show in June 2016 and returning in November 2016.

We need you – How can you get involved? “Take a challenge on for Cancer! Jump on board and fish the best spots in Oz with us. We will be visiting waterways that you will never ever have access to as a regular fishing punter – The event challenge has over 90 spectacular fishing legs up for grabs.

Another great way to involve your friends and family is to be sponsored and ‘Get your Lines Out’ for cancer. The proceeds raised in each state will support the corresponding Cancer Council state organisation” says Mark Ratchford.

You can join us to make a difference, sadly we hear way to often that many Australians have been touched by some form of Cancer in their community.Fish for Life is a ‘whole community’ journey. “We want people to be part of something special, participate for a cause, join in to be social and do something fun with their family”, says Mark. Major fundraising events will be held in every capital city. Save the date and welcome us into port next November at Port Adelaide with a flotilla of boats.

Volunteers and Fundraising Ambassadors are urgently needed to help us reach our goal of over $300,000 across Australia. To be part of this national volunteer crew you get to work with inspiring people and you are guaranteed to build long term friendships that will outlast our journey.
